Odious – arousing or deserving hatred or repugnance 

She turned her head – indeed, a woman in her 50s, short blonde hair, showy earrings, platform cream sneakers, was dining with four other people, possibly her husband, her daughter, and the two sisters of her, but she was the one making the worst possible noise while eating her fillet – dragging the chew as if her teeth were covered with glue and remained stuck at each clench, a loud chew as if her mouth contained tiny amplifiers to raise the volume of mastication – which seemed to last incredibly, tremendously, too long.
